*** FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ***
CONCORS release debut album Nordic Swimming through Copperfly Records on Friday
20th November, 2026.
CONCORS is an adventurous Australian/Norwegian jazz quintet initiated by Norwegian improvising saxophonist Petter Frost Fadnes and Australian saxophonist Robert Burke.
CONCORS’s chordless acoustic sound unfolds through deeply improvised music that evolves from simple compositional sketches unpacked and developed by five highly experienced musical improvisors.
The ensemble balances raw expressive energy with moments of quiet dialogue and structural clarity, and the album offers offering listeners a sound world that is delightfully unpredictable and while achieving compelling cohesiveness.
Robert Burke is an improviser, composer and educator, who has collaborated with international luminaries including George Lewis, Enrico Rava, and Hermeto Pascoal.
Stavanger-based saxophonists Petter Frost Fadnes and Kristoffer Alberts bring additional power and lyricism to the horn-section and the quintet is propelled by acoustic bassist Per Zanussi and drummer Dag Magnus Narvesen.
